This piece is to package teabags in an interesting way and it works very well with a creative shape of a TeePee (tent) labelled TeaPee
The Piece was commissioned by UQAM.
the target audience for this piece is easily identified as tea drinkers due to it being packaging for tea
the Net of this object is of a cone or pyramid type which makes a change from most packaging being rectangular to square.
The use of colour in this design is just to decorate small areas of the packaging with different themes on the packaging , all of the coloured rings on the packaging also act as the way to open each pack.
The typography on this packaging has 2 different fonts from what i can see one that looks like a basic custom font whereas the other looks like a generic font used in most things, I can tell the font is custom due to the A of tea being a basic representation of a teepee.
This Piece doesn't show any images but it has patterns used in it, which look as if they are of the authors design with inspiration of aboriginal design due to the line structure and colours used. they make the packaging seem more happy and colourful simply because they add a sort of creativity to the piece.
the only information i can see on this packaging is the brand name and where it is from, i imagine that the flavour of the tea would also be printed somewhere on this design, for all i know it could also include instructions on how to make the tea.
This piece suggests that the company that commissioned it is an exciting company with fresh ideas for the market whether that is the case you do not know but that is the idea i get from this design.
I haven't seen any work like this which is why i like it due to it being so innovative and such fresh idea that could do very well in the market and may have given an opportunity for the business to expand.
This design conveys that the designer likes aboriginal culture because she has clearly designed this out of this liking.
I personally love this piece because it is such a fresh idea of a way to package one of my favourite things, the only point i have to make against this is that it would cost a lot of money to produce and buy this product due to each teabag being individually packaged, other than this small issue i think the design works very well and it may well end up influencing my future work.

Well done Rory, a good piece of analysis. Keep an eye out for examples of interesting packaging that you can relate to your developing design.
