Artist analysis

His Work

My attempt of matthew midgley's work
Matthew Midgley

Aesthetics
Matthew Midgley's design is clearly an inspired piece of observational drawing done with different medium with this example being done by pen and pencil, the reason would have used this is because of the style of drawing he was try to achieve is easy when using pen and pencil, as this is a line drawing and he needed to use something fine that would allow him to show strokes and depth with darker colour. The colour her used looks as if it reflects that of the object he was drawing meaning this is an accurate line drawing designed to look as real as possible.

Context
The drawing its self represents urban culture as it is a shoe that is worn by the majority of young people in recent times and allows matthew midgley to be relatable to a wider audience for he is designing relevant things for today, this is clearly an article/ advertisement drawing as it represents the object very well, this piece doesn't really relate to much of the arts perspective of today the only way i can see it relating is as a line drawing other than that nothing jumps out to me as innovative art design.

Meaning
the theme of this object is modern culture items or just advertising a product. The Design itself is titled "Converse Boot", the subject of this design is clearly product imagery and Midgley is trying to show the shoe in a different way than is normally shown by doing it in a line drawing instead of taking a picture of the object. nobody is involved in this image as it is just a drawing of a shoe.

Personal Response
I like this design for it shows modern culture in the imagery and the method of drawing makes it stand out from other artists work, i can't think of many improvements other than a change of colour and thickness of borderline strokes. so over all i really like this piece of work and i thin kMatthew Midgley is a very interesting artist to study and analyse.

Her Work
Georgina Luck
Georgina Luck's work is all based on packaging and observational drawings, she also draws general household objects like Matthew Midgley and all of her work is handmade and her other pieces involve her making letters or words with objects or packaging. To make her work she uses watercolour and ink and all of her works colour seems to have a splattery water effect on it making it stand out from a lot of other artists work.
I like her work because its somehow messy yet still looks good such as the image above and as i said earlier her work really stands out from a lot of other artists.
My Attempt at georgina luck's work

My attempt at natsko seki's work

Natsko Seki

Her Work
Natsko Seki uses very different techniques to the other artists by using papercutting and collage styles to create her pieces such as the piece above, she often uses line drawing and negative space to create her images, her work may seem interesting to people with the somewhat random objects, animals or people in the picture. I think her work is most likely  to be seen in any form of advertisement or magazine simply because of the interest it would draw in such places.

I also like her work as it is different to the other artists but still looks just as good and
has an organised approach to a messy idea.

After analysing all 3 artist i have discovered i do not dislike any of their work which whilst being a good thing is also a bad thing for i have no idea of what i do not want to end up with as my final piece
so i have decided that an order of which i would like my work to be more like is essential for my work to progress as planned
so out of all 3 i would like my work to look more like matthew midgleys work but with thicker borders and with a little less detail in the general area of the image,
and least like Natsko Seki due to the fact i feel i have limited idea with collage images as editing certain images into the design.
